Have You Ever Heard Of Bedbugs?

Some have never heard of bedbugs, but these insects are much more common than you think and feed on human blood and cells. Very often they are found hidden in some hotels or motels or where there is no efficient cleaning, so you have to be very careful.

Bed bugs are hidden between the seams of the mattress and under the mattress; if you have any suspicion of their presence, check these places.

The bedbugs are tiny reddish insects and look like apple seeds. Check that there are no blood stains or small black dots like grains of ground black pepper.

To get rid of bedbugs, there are some remedies; wrap the mattress in a plastic bag, so as to prevent these insects from hiding and reproducing; of course you need above all a thorough cleaning. If you are travelling, however, you need to be careful where you place your luggage and clothing, because bedbugs can also be nested between your clothes and then take them home.

For public and private facilities it is highly recommended, therefore, a thorough disinfestation from bedbugs to get rid of them permanently.

Attention To Fleas And Ticks

Flea and ticks tend to become active when the weather gets warm in the spring, and it may be difficult to keep them out of your home

Flea are very small insects, without wings, but able to move with jumps of considerable height.

They nest in cracks in floors, carpets, mattresses, in the country and on farms.

The fleas have a special mouth apparatus that allows them to feed on the blood of animals but also man.

A well-nourished female flea can lay 50 eggs a day and lay up to a maximum of 600, which after 48 hours will turn into larvae.

The ticks vary from about one millimeter up to even one centimeter, depending on the species.

After the meal, the tick can increase its weight up to 100 times!

The most common species in Italy are soft ticks (they infest birds, are very voracious and are found in nests), and hard ticks (they infest dogs and cats, are very prolific and can live up to three years).

The presence of ticks in the domestic environment is very risky because these pests reproduce quickly and can create serious infestations.

In general, these parasites remain to suck the blood of the prey from 2 to 7 days, the preferred areas of the body are the groin, armpits, head and chest.

The act of the sting does not cause pain in the animal because their saliva, emitted at the moment of the bite, contains anaesthetic substances.

To prevent the presence of these insects we recommend you to:

  • Buying flea collars for your pets

Animals are usually the reason why fleas and ticks come into the house, so the best way to keep them out is to get them out of your pet.

  • Vacuum often

Suck in the areas where your pets spend the most time every day, and the whole house once or twice a week.

  • Make sure you keep your pet’s kennel and bedding clean

Wash them frequently with hot water, and if you use a towel to dry your dog after bathing, wash him immediately, instead of putting him in the laundry basket.

  • Brushing your pet regularly

Pay attention to small nodules that could turn out to be a tick, fleas are often visible where the hair is thinner, for example on the belly.

Relying on specialized experts is essential to resolve the problem in a timely and resolutive manner.

The presence of pets, often promotes the development of fleas and ticks, do not wait for the infestation to materialize, act quickly!
